Promotion for Adele’s latest album, titled ‘30’, has drummed up worldwide buzz this past week, as lead single ‘Easy On Me’ draws closer to release.

Last week, the star surprised fans, after she took to social media to confirm October 15th as the song’s official release date, along with a twenty-second teaser from its video.

In the short black-and-white snippet, a glamorous Adele inserts a cassette tape into her car stereo, driving off along a tree-lined road as music sheets fly out of the window.

Simple but effective, the minimalistic clip managed to pull in over 17M views on Instagram alone, despite giving so little away. If those figures are any indication for how the song might perform on the charts, the ‘Someone Like You’ singer could very well have another No.1 on her hands.

However, thirteen years into her career, topping the charts is a relatively straightforward feat for the fifteen-time Grammy award winner. After all, her last album, ‘25’, did end up going No.1 on four separate occasions. If Adele is going to push the boundaries any further, she’ll need to start breaking the very records she set.

The singer/songwriter, who was named the UK’s top-selling female artist this century, holds a number of accomplishments that would take most established musicians decades to achieve. Not only did her 2015 hit ‘Hello’ become the first song in the US to sell over 1M copies within a week of its release, but her sophomore project, ‘21’, quickly became the longest-running #1 album for a woman in Billboard chart history. This accolade was previously held by Whitney Houston’s ‘Bodyguard’ soundtrack.

The release of “30” won’t just mark a turning point in the singer’s career, but also in her life. Back in March, the songstress filed for divorce from Mark Konecki, who she married in 2017, and had nine-year-old son Angelo with. Since parting ways, Adele has started dating new boyfriend Rich Paul, who’s a sports agent.

Up until the past week, the singer had kept tight-lipped on the major changes in her life. However, in a recent interview with Vogue US, Adele revealed plans to use the new record as a way of explaining things to her young son.

She said: “I wanted to explain to him through this record, when he's in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness,

“It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal,”

As for the album’s sound, fans of both the singer’s gut-wrenching power ballads, as well as those who enjoy her more upbeat tracks, are in for a treat. We can expect a little bit of everything from ‘30’, according to Vogue US, who claim Adele has “never been more eclectic” than on her new record.
