Home- Zach Chauhdry, Bearsden, Glasgow

Zach Chauhdry, 14, from Bearsden in Glasgow goes to Bearsden Academy and is a keen footballer and gamer.

He said: “I understand my generation is the future and we are a key part of improving this global crisis. I think we should use less plastic and more paper for example using paper straws and things like that. A lot of my friends don’t like them, but we understand it’s safe to do so and this should be expanded across more areas.

“I also think there should be more renewable energy sources especially during COP 26 as there will be lots of people in Glasgow travelling and using fossil fuels.”

Away- Tracey Kelly, Bergerac, France

Tracey Kelly 49-year-old marketer who lives Castillones, Bergerac in France discusses how France is energy efficient and what her house and area do to stay ecofriendly.

Tracey said: “The area mainly uses electricity domestically- the cleanest of the current energy sources and there are good initiatives such as wind power. France has invested in nuclear energy, but it consumes a lot of energy to produce.

“There’s a culture of eating local produce and supporting farming in France as well as preferring French products rather than imported goods. The country is three times the size of the UK but with the same population, so there’s plenty of space for agriculture.”
