Two weeks ago, British boxing fans were left stunned when Anthony Joshua was beaten for only the second time in his professional career, at the hands of Ukrainian, Oleksandr Usyk, by unanimous decision at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

This weekend, his fellow countryman and long-time rival, Tyson Fury will be looking to do Joshua one up when he looks to beat American, Deontay Wilder, once and for all in a trilogy match, for his WBC and Ring Magazine belts.

Wilder will look to win back the WBC strap that he successfully defended 10 times before losing it to the ‘gypsy king’ at the beginning of 2020

Back in December of 2018, Fury made an unbelievable comeback to the sport after overcoming his own battles, cementing his self as one of the very best in the heavyweight division still by drawing with then undefeated WBC champion, Deontay Wilder. Fury arguably should have won on the cards however, after suffering two knockdowns the judges decided on a draw.

Two fights later for both men, the pair had their rematch. A very different story from their first, Fury put on a one-sided beating, knocking the American down several times on his way to a seventh round TKO. A trilogy match in the contract would mean that the pair would meet for a third time, weirdly after a controversial draw and a convincing beat down.

A fight for the ages between the two heavyweight champions, Fury and Joshua, was then meant to take place in Saudi Arabia or Wembley stadium, however, talks fell through after an American judge ruled that Wilder would have to have his trilogy fight with ‘The Gypsy King’ before any other fight took place.

Will ‘The Bronze Bomber’ Deontay Wilder win back his heavyweight title or will Tyson Fury look to finish the American once and for all, extending his unbeaten record? Fight fans can tune into the fight in the early hours of Sunday morning.
