The Gaming Awards saw the announcement of the blue blur’s next gaming and movie outing, but Sonic fans were relieved to see the new next gen experience for him announced.
In a trailer that lasted around 90 seconds, it showed Sonic doing what he’s done best, running and jumping and doing it very fast with the game titled “Sonic Frontiers”

Sonic fans have been begging for content on the gaming front from SEGA and Sonic Team, and for the first time in well over a decade, they agree that this trailer shows him getting back to basics and no new gimmicks, which fans were annoyed by.
There is not much else to take from the trailer, with the rest showing a panning shot of the where the game may be based, displaying the stunning graphics for Sonic’s first outing on next generation consoles on the PS5 and the Xbox series X/S.
The Awards also displayed the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, a sequel to the first film which ended up being a success.
In this, it showed Dr Robotnik set on revenge for Sonic after the events of the last film, but Sonic has help this time with Tails being showed for the first time as he looks to support him on his mission.
The rest of the trailer displays high levels of action and speed to demonstrate that Robotnik is coming to get back at Sonic after what happened last time.
The end of the trailer saw the evil scientist introduce his secret weapon, a fan favourite known as Knuckles, voiced by Idris Elba.
The film promises to excite new and old fans especially with characters such as Tails and Knuckles returning, and with the new video game teaser, it is an exciting time to be a Sonic the Hedgehog fan at the moment with plenty of new content on the way.
