The Best Games to Enjoy This Christmas

As the festive season creeps upon us once again, it’s time to relax and blow the dust off our controllers and revisit some of the old Christmas classics. Here are the best games to play this time of year.

 Hitman 3 (Xbox, PS, PC)

The iconic Agent 47 is back once again, IO interactive have announced their winter roadmap which allows the bald assassin to hunt down another set of well-known villains, Harry and Marv: “Both American nationals now living in Paris after a series of botched break-ins and related violent crimes forced them to leave their home country.” This mission is free to all who own the game and for those who don’t, the first episode of the game is also free just now.

Grand Theft Auto V (Xbox, PS, PC)

One of the most anticipated events of this time of year comes round again. Arriving slightly later than usual, this year’s event is expected to arrive on the 23rd of December and finish in the first week of January. Players can expect a blanket of snow over Los Santos alongside plenty of free rewards and missions to complete. Players should also be on the lookout for the plenty of discounts available on clothes and weapons.

Team Fortress 2 (PC)

Although technically not a Christmas event, Valve’s Smissmas 2021 is now available. This comes with six new community maps, 27 new unusual effects for hats and weapons, and a free stuffed stocking for everyone who logs on during the event which is set to run until January 7th, 2022.

Viscera Clean-up Detail: Santa's Rampage (PC)

"Tragedy! Santa: the toy giving folk-hero, and purveyor of fine Christmas goods, has had enough. Endless requests from greedy children wanting more and more every year, tax increases, pressure from elf unions, bills, reindeer!" This game doesn’t take itself too seriously. The player’s role as a janitor is to clean up after Saint Nick after his unfortunate disagreement with his helpers. Being the cheapest game on this list (priced around £2) it provides a couple of hours of fun best spent with friends through the online co-op feature.

Tabletop Simulator (PC)

Nothing’s better than spending the holidays playing cards, monopoly and any other arrangement of board games. Tabletop Simulator allows people to do all of this virtually with every game at ones fingertips. Expect to pay less than £15 for this game which is a bargain considering it allows people to download community content which makes niche games such as Dungeons and Dragons as well as Warhammer 40,000 available to play. VR is fully supported and recommended for a full experience also, a table can be flipped at any time.
