Premier League: Three key Moments as Title Pursuers Slip

After the first round of midweek fixtures, the Premier League this weekend saw many teams continue to fight and to keep their season on track, with rivals meeting and underdogs looking to cause upsets.

Hammers continue to impress with shock Chelsea win (West Ham- 3 Chelsea- 2)

West ham this season have now beaten Liverpool and Chelsea, two teams fighting for the title as they continue to shush the critics and are looking like a solid outfit to potentially get top four ahead of many other super teams such as Arsenal and Manchester United. They will cause every team they face problems, and David Moyes has now made his team one to not be messed around with.

Chelsea, as a result, have now slipped down to third in the table after beginning the weekend at the top, it shows how one minor slip up for any one of the three teams competing for the title can be costly.

West Ham may have needed a stroke of luck to win the game after Arthur Masuaku’s cross turned into shot went into the back of the net, but they were full deserving of winning this game on Saturday and despite going behind twice, they continued to fight and ultimately walked away with all three points.

Late drama as Origi saves Liverpool (Wolves- 0 Liverpool- 1)

Liverpool have now leapfrogged Chelsea in the Premier League after their late win versus Wolves, Divock Origi coms to the rescue time and time again for Liverpool, and after a summer where it was looking possible he could leave, the Belgian could see himself cement a spot in the starting eleven especially with Salah and Mane off to AFCON in less than a month.

Wolves remain winless after their defeat this weekend and Bruno Lage will need to assess his team on how they can step up their performances with a lack of goals and chances for his side, and count his team lucky that the score line was only 1-0.

It was all about grinding for Liverpool on Saturday, they dominated Wolves all game but lacked a clear goal scoring edge, with guilt edge chances missed by all of the front three, but especially Diogo Jota, who failed to score after the Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa failed to clear the ball and the forward had a clear site of goal.

United win on Ragnick debut (Man Utd- 1-Crystal Palace- 0)

Ralf Ragnick will look to pick this United team up and get their season back on track, and with a win in his first game with a positive display at Old Trafford, his philosophy will bring something new to United with his high tempo pressing style set to get his players fighting, and exactly what the club needs.

Crystal Palace were resilient in their efforts against United, but were unstuck once again. Although they remain clear of the relegation zone at the moment, they will have to gain some form if they are to stay afloat this season especially with plenty of games coming up in the winter schedule.

United were left frustrated by Crystal Palace, as Patrick Vieira made his team dig I defensively and get a point, but ultimately, a wonderfully taken goal by Fred separated the two sides on Sunday night.
