Premier League: Three things we learned as Arsenal’s title race is still in full flow

Arsenal continues to prove they are title contenders as they display a dominant performance against Chelsea.

Gabriel scored from a scrappy corner in the 60th minute to collect all three points for Arteta’s side.

Despite the score line, the Gunners showed that they are levels ahead of the Blues as they controlled the tempo of the game in every aspect.

Arsenal remain two points clear at the top of the league and with only one more game before the World Cup, they will be hoping that they can keep their seven-game unbeaten run alive with a win next Saturday against Wolves.

Chelsea takes a heavy hit to their pride as they put up a poor performance against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. Potter’s men ended the weekend in seventh place, leaving them five points off the top four. They head to St. James Park to face Newcastle United next week as they look to end their poor run of form and pick up some points.

Aston Villa shocked Manchester United in Emery’s first game in charge.

Villa got off to a winning start under their newly appointed manager by smashing three past the Red Devils.

Goals from Bailey, Digne and Ramsey secured the three points for the Villains as United’s only goal came from a Ramsey own goal.

Emery could not have hoped for a better first result as Villa ended their 27-year winless run at home against Manchester United. They find themselves in 13th place in the table and face an in-form Brighton side on Sunday.

Ten Haag’s side were ill-prepared for the pressure from Villa as their five-game unbeaten run came to an end. They failed to find a result that would have left them level on points with fourth place. We look forward to seeing them at Craven Cottage next week.

Man City refuse to give up and battle Fulham to earn three points.

Ten-man Citizens pulled off a fantastic result against Fulham as Alvarez scored and star player Haaland scored his inevitable goal with a 95th-minute penalty. The visitors' only goal was from a penalty awarded for a foul that earned Cancelo a red card.

Guardiola’s men will be proud of their performance as they continue to pull results out of the bag. They are ready to take advantage of a slip-up to reach the top of the league as they remain in second. They host Brentford on Saturday and hope for a more comfortable game.

Silva's side could not exploit the ten-man City side due to the quality difference between the teams. They clash with Manchester United next week as both teams aim to redeem themselves.
