Premier League: Three key Moments

The next round of Premier League fixtures were played out with more key games being played and many teams continuing to impress with some struggling to get any points at all.

United Draw to Impressive Saints (Man Utd- 1 Southampton -1)

The doom and gloom continues at Old Trafford, with even more points dropped this time at home to Southampton. A massive lack of motivation and urgency keeps Ralf Rangnick wondering what he has to do to improve this side and to get them into the top four. There’s a clear unrest amongst the players and the recent results show that, they now sit outside the Champions League spots and the future continues to look bleak.

Southampton continue to impress as of recent and after grabbing a draw after a fairly impressive performance, they now sit in the top half of the table. They have taken points off both Manchester teams and got a very emphatic comeback win versus Spurs. They sit clear of the relegation zone and will hope to slowly push even further up the table.

Despite being the away side, Southampton outplayed their hosts for large periods of the game and fully merited their draw.

Jadon Sancho gave United the lead with his first home league goal for the club, not before Scottish international Che Adams equalised shortly after the break.

United’s £80 million captain continues to be a liability at the back

Leicester and West Ham Play out Thrilling Draw (Leicester- 2 West Ham -2)

West Ham feel this was an opportunity missed as they failed to move clear of the rest of the teams below them. They look to be strong contenders to get top four this season and with the poor form of the teams around them, they will understand that this is a fantastic opportunity to progress as a team as they continue to move up the table.

Leicester still sit in the bottom half of the table as Brendan Rodgers’ future continues to look bleak. Despite winning the FA cup and achieving a fifth place finishlast season, it’s been a polar opposite in terms of form this year. They have been knocked out of both domestic cups and sit in 11th place in the table.

It was goals galore at the King Power Stadium, But it was a tale of two defences. West Ham took the lead thanks to the inform Jarrod Bowen, who now will be in with a shout of an England call up, Leicester then fought back to take the lead, but their defending from set pieces let them down again as a late Craig Dawson header meant that the points were shared.

Defensive Circus as Spurs lose to Wolves (Spurs- 0 Wolves- 2)

Spurs have lost massive ground in the hunt for the top four, and will need to find form quickly if they are to get back into the Champions League. They must find the right system to play at, and Antonio Conte is seemingly running out of ideas as to what he can do with the players at his disposal. Their defence will continue to cause them problems and will need to cut out their individual errors to have any chance of pushing up the table.

Wolves continue to silence the critics as they defy the odds and move up the table, they sit four points behind the top four with two games in hand. Their solid defensive unit continues to be their strength, but they are now beginning to score more goals and will feel if they take advantage of the teams above them dropping points, that they have every chance to shock the doubters again and get a top four spot.

It was a disaster class for Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a series of errors forcing them to slump to a very poor 2-0 defeat, but Wolves took full advantage and converted their chances expertly and stayed resilient to the albeit minimal threat from Antonio Conte’s men.

6 wins out of 12 in the league for Conte, is the clock already ticking on his future?
