Glasgow Clan Coach Signs for Another Season

Despite the ups and downs of the Glasgow clan this season due to COVID leading to tiring back-to-back games. There has been remarkable improvement Due to the coach Malcolm Cameron, who has confirmed he is signing on for another season to continue the work he has started this season.

Glasgow Clan Managing Director Gareth Chalmers said: “Last summer we carried out an extensive search for a new Head Coach and Head of Hockey Operations who could match our ambitions and vision for the club, so I am delighted Malcolm is returning. This season has been a very testing past six months; however, the whole organisation has taken it in their stride and we can now start focusing on putting our plans into place for the next decade of the Clan.

“I want to thank the Purple Army and everyone associated with the club for all their fantastic, continued support, we’ve got a very exciting next few years coming up.”

It has also seemed that despite the events of this season, the Purple Army has had their faith in Malcolm Cameron rewarded as he led the team to the last eight in the Playoffs, with the Clan’s victory over Manchester Storm 7-4.

It started off back and forth with both Colton Waltz and Tayler Thompson dropping gloves and getting a five-minute penalty for fighting, much to the delight of the Purple Army. Manchester opened the scoring but couldn’t stop a Mathieu Roy hat-trick, two goals from Nolan LaPorte, and a goal each from Guillaume Gauthier and Braylon Shmyr. This gave Malcolm Camerons side the win a week after he put pen to paper and signed for another season.

Malcolm Cameron said: “I believe that we could have scored seven without giving away four. For the next four games we need to tidy up or defence. We need to make them earn goals, not give them goals. We are going to focus on one game at a time.”
