GIG REVIEW: NoahFinnce Rocks the Òran Mór
Self-proclaimed “underachiever” NoahFinnce hosted a wonderfully whacky show on Tuesday the 13th of September in the Òran Mór restaurant and bar. The entire venue was filled with misfits with a various array of styles and memorizing looks, creating the punk/rock and roll atmosphere that anyone would be able to enjoy.
For Noah’s first ever concert in Scotland, it is evident it was a major success. From the tickets being sold out, to people chanting and screaming for Noah to sing more songs toward the end of the night. The lighting and sound were also incredible and helped create a truly enjoyable experience.
The show began at 8:50pm and it kicked off with none other than “Kickin Trash” a song off Noah’s EP that was released in 2021. While a lot of major artists nowadays use equipment such as autotune to create better sounding music, Noah relies on talent alone. His vocals are almost identical to that on the tracks however, in some areas he sung slightly lower, keeping the feel of the song and occasionally creating something that sounded brand new.
During the night, Noah taught the audience the chorus to his new song that released at midnight on Wednesday the 14th of September. The fans picked it up incredibly easily and he began to play the opening of “La La La” which was a completely new experience for everyone who had not been to any of his recent shows. The atmosphere was filled with cheers and sweat, people were jumping up and down, screaming at the top of their lungs.
After Noah’s cover of the Owl City song “Fireflies” the stage fell into darkness and with this, the crowd began cheering after him screaming “one more tune.” From this, we saw lights appear again with Noah holding a ukulele and with this, he began playing his first ever song “Asthma attack” that had the whole venue singing along.
Noah then announced that his last song of the night would be “Stupid” from his 2021 EP. The song began quite strongly, with people jumping and dancing to the beat of Noah’s guitar. Towards the end, a man in a white rat mask revealed himself and began flailing, leaving the audience in a fit of laughter and giving them a taste of the insane character, that Noah truly is.
