Simon Ferry’s Open Goal Broomhill welcomed Rangers B to Broadwood Stadium for what was a thrilling clash between the two sides.

Rangers B started the game as the dominant side, with an early strike from Robbie Fraser going wide four minutes into the match. Six minutes later, the hosts had a chance at the other end of the park as Ryan Tierney headed the ball straight at Rangers ‘keeper Lewis Budinauckas.

The opposition took the lead as Robbie Ure scored from close range putting the ball past David Wilson. The scoreline remained unchanged throughout the rest of the half as Rangers failed to get the ball past Wilson as he pulled off some terrific saves.

As the second half begun, it was OG Broomhill who took charge of the match, which indicated there were strong words from Ferry at half-time to encourage his players.

After missed chances at goal from James Grant and Matthew McDonald, it was Kyle Semple who equalised for his side with a sensational volley from 20 yards, giving Budinauckas no chance to stop it.

As the game was nearing its end, Zak Lovelace got one back for Rangers B, putting them back in front. Despite the setback, OG Broomhill equalised late-on through a close-range header from substitute Finlay Malcolm.

It was full time at Broadwood with the scoreline at 2-2. To the delight of Ferry and the supporters in attendance, OG Broomhill earned a well-deserved draw against a top-quality Rangers side.

Open Goal Broomhill remain eighth in the lowland league, leaving them in a comfortable position to avoid relegation and put their focus on next season but also finish off this season on a high with more positive results.
