TV Series Review: 'Full Swing'

New Netflix Documentary on the world of PGA tour golf and the rising concern that LIV golf has played in the last year, with Saudi investors trying to rival the PGA and poach many of its great players.

The series follows the mould of Formula 1’s Drive to Survive on Netflix. Showcasing how these athletes go about their day-to-day lives, compete for the biggest prizes in golf, and make a living out of the sport. The likes of Former world number one’s Jordan Speith and Dustin Johnson take part as well as English entertainer Ian Poulter.

The series can be enjoyed by someone who has little to no prior golf knowledge, and also by the sport’s biggest fans. It lets the fans latch onto the drama of the sport, on the course, and behind the scenes. The series will for sure help to grow the sport and get more people to take it up and watch tournaments more regularly, especially the younger generation.

The show is great at placing the viewer on the course, while watching each episode you find yourself rooting for the player you have seen preparing all week and documenting all their past struggles in the sport. It engages the viewer very well and the next season of the show is sure to be even more exciting with the 2023 Ryder cup and the development of the LIV series all coming soon to the world of golf.
