SAG Awards 2023 - Nominees and winners
The 2023 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award winners were announced on the 26th of February and debuted all the best talent from film and television of 2022.
'Everything, Everywhere, All at Once' proved to be the most successful film of the night, bringing home four awards: the award for best cast in a motion picture, Michelle Yeoh winning female actor in a leading role, Jamie Lee Curtis for best actor in a supporting role, and Ke Huy Quan for male actor in a supporting role.
The film beat out 'The Banshees of Inisherin', 'Babylon', 'Women Talking', and 'The Fabelmans'.
Male actor in a leading role went to Brendan Fraser for 'The Whale', beating Austin Butler in 'Elvis', and Colin Farrell in 'The Banshees of Inisherin'. Stunt ensemble in a motion picture went to 'Top Gun: Maverick' beating 'Avatar: The Way of Water' and 'The Batman'.
In the television section, 'The White Lotus' won best ensemble in a drama series with Jennifer Coolidge winning best female actor in a drama series.
'Stranger Things', arguably one of the most popular television series of 2022, won best stunt ensemble in a television series, beating 'House of the Dragon' and 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power'.
Abbott Elementary took home best ensemble in a comedy series, beating 'The Bear', 'Only Murders in the Building', and 'Barry'.
Best Male actor in a Drama Series was won by Jason Bateman in 'Ozark', beating Bob Odenkirk in 'Better Call Saul', and Jeremy Allen White took home Best Male actor in a comedy series in 'The Bear', beating Bill Hader and Anthony Carrigan in 'Barry' and Steve Martin in 'Only Murders in the Building'.
Lastly, Sally Field was recognised with the Lifetime Achievement award for “career achievement and humanitarian accomplishment.”
In her speech, she said: ”Acting to me, has always been about finding those few precious moments when I feel totally, utterly, sometimes dangerously alive.”
