Tyler, the Creator to Return to UK in 2025 World Tour

October has been the month of California rapper Tyler, the Creator. One week following the announcement of his new album ‘Chromakopia’ and the line-up for the 10th edition of his music carnival ‘Camp Flog Gnaw’, Tyler has announced plans for a 2025 world tour where he will return to the UK after 10 years.

The tour kicks off in February and includes six stops in the UK in May, which would be the first time Tyler has performed in the nation since his 2015 tour.

The decade-long absence from the UK is due to ex-Prime Minister Theresa May using anti-terrorism legislation to ban Tyler from entering the UK. She claimed his music “fosters hatred with views that seek to provoke others to terrorist acts”. This ban would then be lifted when May resigned in May 2019.

Tyler was set to perform an impromptu, one-off performance in London in 2019 after his ban was lifted. However, the gig was cancelled by the venue due to the large crowds that showed up to watch him perform, including some people gate-climbing.

The 2025 tour announcement is the latest, and seemingly final, stop in the roll-out for Tyler’s new album ‘Chromakopia’ which is set to be released on Monday 28 October. This roll-out also includes the lead single of the album ‘NOID’ which was released on 21 October.

With all the hype around this new release, Camp Flog Gnaw being just around the corner, and his tour garnering huge mainstream attention, this next year is looking to be one of the biggest of Tyler’s whole career.
