Who has caught the eye in the EIHL this week?

Here are some of the top performers from the week’s action in the EIHL:

Netminder - Matt Greenfield, Sheffield Steelers

The Steelers goalie started the week with a shutout in a 3-0 win over the Guildford Flames, which he would then follow into the weekend where he would make some crucial saves to ensure the Steelers got the two points against the Panthers. On Sunday, he would make sure the Steelers continued their great form while they beat Guildford in a hard-fought game where he made some big saves.

Defence - Bode Wilde, Cardiff Devils

Bode was a standout throughout the Devils' Scottish double header, picking up four assists over the weekend. Wilde would pick up two assists in each of the games the first game was a 5-4 win over the Fife Flyers and then on Sunday he would pick up another two assists in Dundee where they came out 6-3 winners. He also got an assist on Wednesday night against the Fife Flyers in Cardiff, where they would win 3-2

 

Defence - Stephen Desrocher, Glasgow Clan

Desrocher got the game-tying goal with less than a minute remaining in the game to level the score to take the game to overtime in his debut match for the Clan, which helped them pick up a point on the road in Coventry. He followed this up in Friday's home game against the Blaze where he would play a solid defensive game leading to the victory.

 

Forward - J.D. Dudek, Coventry Blaze

Dudek started the week with a hat trick in a 4-3 win against the Clan on Wednesday night he then followed that up with a solid pair of performances over the weekend for the Blaze.

 

Forward - Cameron Critchlow, Manchester Storm

Critchlow started the week with a 5-2 win over the Belfast Giants where he would pick up four assists. He followed his good performance with a goal on Saturday in a 4-3 overtime win against Dundee Stars in Manchester.

 

Forward - Logan Neilson, Nottingham Panthers

The young Brit started the week with a goal and two assists against the Stars in a 5-1 victory at home. He followed this impressive start to the week with a goal against the flying Sheffield Steelers. The 21-year-old then finished off the weekend with a vital goal against the Fife Flyers in a 3-2 overtime win for the Panthers.

 

Honourable mentions:

Defence - Dallas Ehrhardt, Manchester Storm

The big defence man would start the week with a goal and an assist against the Giants in their 5-2 victory He continued that form into Saturday, where he would get an assist against the Stars in Manchester. On Sunday, he was on the end of a tough 3-0 loss but played a very well-rounded game.

 

Forward- Mike Pelech, Glasgow Clan

Pelech started the week with an assist on Wednesday night in Coventry. He then followed it on Saturday with a goal and an assist at home against the Blaze. He was very dominant in the face-off dot for the Clan over the week.
