Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is finally here
After nearly a full year of waiting, the trailer for the DLC to Fromsoftware’s most successful title to date is finally here. Originally announced on February 28 th 2023, fans have been eagerly anticipating a taste of Elden Ring’s major expansion since it was initially teased with only a single image. But now we have a full three-minute trailer along with a release date, June 21st, 2024.
Fans get a nice, detailed look at what will be in store for them. Showing new areas for them to explore, as well as new enemies and bosses to face off against. As well as teasing a new villain for players to go up against, Messmer the Impaler.
We also get hints towards continuing the cryptic story of Miquella, the demigod with the least amount of information from the base game. Having several mentions towards him throughout the trailer as well as a glowing golden individual towards the end that is practically guaranteed to be him.
And of course, much to fans delight there will be several new fashion and weapon options for players to choose from to make their Tarnished as stylish, or unstylish, as possible. The trailer shows several new spells and weapon arts for players too use to further develop their unique fighting style.
Both before and after the trailer’s release there has been much debate as to whether the DLC will be set within the lands between or not. The many unique locations and areas being shown throughout the trailer only helping to further this debate.
Releasing in just four months anticipation for Shadow of the Erdtree couldn’t be higher, andwith a collectors edition including a statue and artbook, Elden Ring fans have a lot to look forward to.
