Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine have both wiped their respective Instagrams, deleting all of their posts and then going on to share photos of covers for albums, them being Trivium's “Ascendancy” and Bullet For My Valentine's album “The Poison.” Next year, in 2025, both albums are going to be turning 20 years old, so this is not a coincidence. But what does that mean for the bands?

Released on 15 March in 2005, “Ascendancy” is the second album by Trivium and is still considered to be one of the best albums by the band amongst fans. While placings vary, in a ranking list most fans will statistically have the album placed in the top three or have it just missing out and being 4th. The album saw a successful launch, with the album spawning 4 singles, “Like Light to the Flies”, “Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr”, “A Gunshot to The Head of Trepidation” and “Dying in Your Arms”.

The single “Dying in Your Arms” would go to receive a nomination for best single at the Kerrang! Awards in 2006. However, that is not the extent of the praise, the album would win Kerrang! Magazine's album of the year award in 2005, in August of 2009 the album would go on to place no.22 on Kerrang! Radio’s 21st century Greatest hits and received 11th place in 2008 on Metal Hammer’s 100 greatest albums of the 21st century.

“The Poison” is the debut album for the Welsh heavy metal band, Bullet For My Valentine. Unlike Trivium's album, upon its release “The Poison” did not receive the best reviews and feedback from some critics. Stylus Magazine said the album was for 15-year-olds who did not care and was for them to get violent, they gave the album a below average score of a C-. But the album did go on to receive some positive from other alternative media. With AllMusic giving the album 3.5 stars, as well as praising its aesthetic, a combination of metal and emo, and the writing of the riffs featured on the album.

So, with both albums being staples in both bands' discography and the 20th anniversary being next year, many fans are speculating something big. However, there is more to these speculations than just some Instagram posts. Matt Heafy mentioned the topic during the bands last UK tour, saying “we should probably do something about it”.

When asked to elaborate in an interview by Metal Hammer, Heafy talked about how he likes to leave public clues, but even he is unsure what he is talking about. Matt Tuck teased something on social media saying on a post “We have a massive announcement to make soon that will make 2025 be a very special year for us so stay tuned for that.”, but what this all means exactly is unclear.

We have been given little information, but it is clear both bands are working on something big for next year.
