Sony’s first state of play was a massive success with the most anticipated game “Death Stranding 2” getting 15 million views on Youtube.

Playstation’s latest State of Play is already upon us, bringing with it a peek into the upcoming games for the console. From the return of old favourites to new shiny releases, here is everything announced at State of Play this week.

Starting with the earliest release, Silent Hill: The Short Message is a new short entry in the Silent Hill franchise about a teenage girl exploring an abandoned apartment complex said to be under the hold of a terrible curse. The game is available for free right now on the Playstation Store.

Next up, Foamstars is a new 4 vs 4 party shooter reminiscent of Splatoon. Featuring 8 playable characters with their own unique toolkit and playstyle. It releases on the 6th of February.

After that there is a double feature. Legendary Tales, a fantasy VR sword fighting game and Hell Divers 2, a third-person squad shooter about defending the galaxy from a rising alien threat, releases on the Playstation on the 8th of February. Hell Divers 2 will also release on Steam at the same time.

After that is yet another double release. Dragon’s Dogma 2, a single player, story driven action-RPG set in a fantasy world and Rise of the Ronin, an open world combat focused RPG set in 19th century Japan during the fall of the Tokugawa Shogunate. Both games release on the 22nd of March. With Dragon’s Dogma 2 releasing on both Xbox and Steam the same day.

Stellar Blade, a third-person action-adventure game that blends a combo driven combat system with story and exploration. Set in a post-apocalyptic earth, with the main character Eve trying to liberate it from hostile aliens reminiscent of Neir Automata. The game releases on the 26th of April.

Then we’re getting a free Dave the Diver DLC that sees the game crossover with Godzilla. Beyond that we don’t know any details. The DLC is planned to release in May.

Looking to the end of the year, Sonic x Shadow Generations is a remaster of the original Sonic Generations now with a brand new story campaign featuring Shadow the Hedgehog. The game is set to release on Playstation, Xbox and Steam in Autumn this year.

We also have a few games with less defined release dates. Zenless Zone Zero, an urban fantasy, action RPG Gacha game. Metro Awakening VR, a stealth action game made for VR and a remake of the critically acclaimed Until Dawn are all set to release some time in 2024. Metro Awakening VR will also be available on Quest and Steam while Zenless Zone Zero will also be released on IOS, Android and PC.

Death Stranding 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the original critically acclaimed walking simulator, the game has been confirmed for a 2025 release.

Hideo Kojima also teased a new action espionage game, claiming to use next generation technology and blend film and video games. However, he refused to give further details.

Finally, we have Judas, a new narrative driven shooter from the creators of Bioshock and a remake of Silent Hill 2. Both of which have no confirmed release date.
