By Euan Smith

It was a decisive week in the EIHl, with the title being sealed

Netminder: Evan Weninger, Manchester Storm

Weninger had a standout weekend in net for the Storm as they completed a four-point weekend against the Coventry Blaze. The netminder only gave up two goals over the weekend in back-to-back 2-1 victories over the Blaze.

Defenceman: Kevin Tansey, Sheffield Steelers

Tansey played a solid game to clinch the league against the Flames where they claimed a 7-3 win where he would score a goal. He would also put up another strong performance the night before on the road in Nottingham where he would get one assist in a 4-2 win over the Panthers.

Defenceman: Josh Roach, Belfast Giants

Roach had a good defensive performance against the Fife Flyers where he would put up four assists in a 4-3 overtime loss on the road in Fife.

Forward: Daniel Ciampini, Sheffield Steelers

Ciampini had an all-round fantastic game as they clinched the league title. He picked up a goal and four assists in a 7-3 win on home ice in front of a packed Sheffield Arena.

Forward: Ryan Hughes, Guildford Flames

Hughes scored a hat trick in the Flames dispatch of the Glasgow Clan 7-1 on Saturday night in Guildford.

Forward: Mitchell Balmas, Sheffield Steelers

Balmas would be amongst several Steelers players who had an outstanding weekend as they clinched the league title. Balmas would pick up a goal against the Panthers on Saturday night. He would then have an unbelievable game on the following day as he picked up a goal and three assists for the Steelers.

Honourable mentions:

Netminder: Taran Kozun, Coventry Blaze

Kozun would be a standout as they took on the Storm over two games throughout the weekend. Kozun would be unlucky not to pick up any points as his team would lose out in a penalty shootout on Saturday night after a 1-1 draw. He was also unfortunate as they followed it up with a tight 2-1 loss at home to the Storm.

Defenceman: Kevin Wehrs, Fife Flyers

Wehrs would have a great weekend defensively as the Flyers would pick up four points over the course of the weekend. Wehrs would also pick up two assists against the Belfast Giants in their 4-3 overtime win on home ice.

Forward: Patrick Bajkov, Guildford Flames

Bajkov would be amongst a line of Flames players who would have a standout game on Saturday against the Clan. Bajkov would pick up a goal and four assists over the weekend and have an excellent all-round game in the 7-1 dispatch of the Clan.
