Valtos are a band that have a unique take on traditional Scottish music as they produce their music with an electronic/dance/trance twist.

This popular band formed by Daniel Docherty and Martyn MacDonald born and bred from the beautiful Isle of Skye, have become a sensation due to all their hard work over the past few years of producing the music that they have created. With the help of using the Islands landscape and culture, both band members have received an award for ‘Up and Coming Artist of the Year’ at The Scots Trad awards back in 2022 and received a nomination for ‘Best Live Act’ in 2023.

Valtos have released their new single ‘A’Chuthag’ - meaning ‘The Cuckoo’ featuring legendary Julie Fowlis on 19th April this year after teasing their fans and wider audience all over social media with a snippet of this brand new single. It has quickly become quite a major hit for those who love folk music. They bring a different and authentic style when producing any of their music, collaborating with musicians such as Runrig phenomenon Donnie Munro, Lana Pheutan, Gary Innes and many more extraordinarily talented artists scattered across Scotland.

The band are continuing to exceed the expectations of their fanbase and grab the attention of potentially new listeners with their new and exciting take on traditional folk music, helping set a whole new genre of the Gaelic music culture with a modern twist.

With a busy schedule ahead this year, Valtos are going on tour all over Scotland and even France this summer. So, don’t miss out if you fancy grabbing yourself and a friend a ticket to experience seeing them live in action with a variety of different music artists alongside them.
