The most anticipated season of Formula 1 is less than two months away. With immense hype and exciting changes, the 2025 season has the potential to be one of the best Formula 1 seasons yet.
The 2025 Formula 1 season entails the debut of many new rookies and some familiar faces who have already driven a Formula 1 car.
Amidst the new faces is the 18-year-old Italian driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who is set to replace Sir Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes. The Italian driver's rapid journey throughout the championships makes his partnership with Mercedes one to keep an eye on.
A rookie who had previously performed in Formula 1, Ollie Bearman, has been given a seat by Haas due to his impressive performances during the 2024 season. The British driver was subbed in for Carlos Sainz, where his racing impressed the Formula 1 world, notably by picking up points in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
At Alpine, Australian rookie Jack Doohan joins Pierre Gasly, bringing his experience of single seater racing into the Alpine team.
The 2024 Formula 2 champion, Gabriel Bortoleto, joins the Kick Sauber team with Nico Hülkenberg. The Brazilian driver is one of the most promising young stars to climb up the ranks to Formula 1.
7-time world champion, Hamilton, will be driving the iconic Ferrari car in a momentous career move from Mercedes. The British driver will join Charles Leclerc as the Ferrari duo for the 2025 season, which was previously revealed back in February of 2024. This switch of teams plays a pivotal role in the hype for the 2025 season as many are happy with the pairing of the most successful Formula 1 driver in history with the iconic team. The tifosi are also anxiously awaiting the release of the new car to determine if the possibility of a return of the championship to the prestigious Maranello is on the cards for the 2025 season.
Adored drivers such as Franco Colapinto and Valtteri Bottas have made their way back to the grid as reserve drivers.
Colapinto is set to join Alpine as one of their reserve drivers for the upcoming 2025 season after his recent release from Williams. The Argentine driver captured the hearts of many racing fans who were upset to see him leave the grid after the end of the 2024 season due to his fantastic performances after being subbed in to replace a distressed Logan Sargeant.
Bottas will rejoin his former team Mercedes as their reserve driver for the 2025 season, providing the team with a trusted safety net. The Finnish driver was racing with Alfa Romeo in the 2024 season before they decided not to continue with him after the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Mercedes and Bottas have a well-established relationship, with the Finnish driver having previously raced for the team for five years alongside Hamilton from 2017 to 2021, where he attained 10 race victories and earned 20 pole positions.
The 2025 Formula 1 season hasn’t even started yet, but the immense hype and excitement from fans due to all these factors is contributing to the popularity and growth of the sport.
The future of the motorsport lies within the 2025 season and we may be potentially witnessing a pivotal era of Formula 1.
