Number 5: Scott pilgrim vs the world
This is an amazing film that is more action romance, and it follows our main character, Scott. He finds a girl and he is head over heels for her immediately. They then, get together and then he’s told if they want to ever truly be together, he’ll need to fight her seven evil exes. The cast for this movie is stacked, it has actors like Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Michael Cera and Brandon Routh. The movie has all these amazing actors, and they do a fantastic job at making the movie witty and fun. By the end of the movie Scott defeats the seven ex’s and get to be with the girl of his dreams. The movie still holds up to this day with a 7.5 rating on IMDb and an 83% on rotten tomatoes.

Number 4: La La Land
The film follows Sebastian aka Ryan Gosling and Mia played by Emma Stone. Her acting in this film is so good she won the 2017 best actress award at the Oscars. The film follows these two characters who fall in love with each other because of their desire to do the things they love. But as the movie progresses, we see both characters facing great success, but it puts a strain on their relationship. The dreams they had worked towards for ages for their own lives is what may break the fabric of their relationship. The movie is a warning that sometimes personal advancement in your life dreams can outweigh love. Relationships are sacrifice and this what the movie is about, you can’t always win in life. Scored a 91% on rotten tomatoes and 8 on IMDb.

Number 3: Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind
In my opinion this one of the most heart-breaking movies to ever watch and it is so good. The film follows Jim Carrey who plays Joel, and his girlfriend is played by Kate Winslet who plays Clementine in the film. The film follows them breaking up and Clementine goes through a procedure after the breakup to forget her memories of the relationship as it would be easier to forget it all than live with it. Joel then learns of this and does the same, heart broken at the fact she could so easily go through with something like that. The movie goes through moments in the past whilst they were still together. This movie will probably make you cry as it is so sad, but still is an amazing love story none the less. It got a 92% on rotten tomatoes and 8.3 on IMDb.

Number 2: 500 days of summer
The film is a romantic dramedy that follows Tom Hansen who is taken off guard whilst one day at work, when he meets what he thinks is the love of his life. Compared to summer the girl he is madly in love with, she is more sceptical when it comes to love and relationships, not jumping into anything immediately unlike Tom. They eventually break up and the movie show cases moments from their relationship because Tom is thinking back to try and find out why she left him and moved on. The film is a sad with Tom giving up on love and work and follows him trying to escape this cycle. It’s regarded as one of the best romantic films ever. It has 86% on rotten tomatoes and 7.7 on IMDb.

Number 1: 10 things I hate about you
The movie is about this girl called Kat Stratford who is quite abrasive to most people her age, usually scaring of all possible partners for herself. But for her younger sister it’s the opposite, everyone is in love with her and thinks she gorgeous. But her dad says there are house rules so until Kat get a boyfriend her younger sister can’t date thinking this because Kat scares away every possible partner. Until she meets Patrick Verona, and she starts to fall in love with him as he never stops trying to get her to let down her guard, but she later finds out it was all a bet, but he does love her and he’s no longer pretending. It’s like Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the shrew”. The movie even till this day has a massive fan base and is considered the best romantic film even to date. It scored 71% on rotten tomatoes and a 7.3 on IMDb.
