Scotiacon was last hosted in the UK in 2011. It's a long-standing charity in Scotland looking into animal welfare previously working with charities such as Cats protection and others throughout the country. Previous years when Scotiacon was held a percentage of all ticket sales have gone to animal-based charities and this year is no different. The 2025 theme “Magical Mayhem” was linked with the Scottish Wildcat Conservation charity which works with the Wildcats in a variety of ways. Such as keeping habitats safe, preventing mixing with domesticated cats and protecting from hunters.

The 2025 Scotiacon was the last one since 2011 which ended the event for some time, but it's been brought back, and the 2026 event has been announced and the furry community have already stated their excitement. As of now next years venue is yet to be announced.
