People Make Glesga - Poem

Observing Glaswegians walking by,
I’m met with many echos of the word ‘aye.’
There’s a lad making conversation with folk he doesn’t ken,
He shouts across the street ‘you alright hen?’
There’s a boy wearing a blue Rangers strip
Walking with a takeaway poke of chips.
He seems a wee bit crabbit,
It’s chucked it down; the rain’s drenched his jacket.
With the characters and their patter, out came the
Well known phrase; People Make Glesga.
