Police launch urgent searches for missing people in Scotland

Police Scotland have released news on two new active missing person inquiries. 

There is an appeal for more information to help track down 61-year-old Andrew Hodge, who was reported missing in fife. Andrew was said to be seen last around 1:15pm on Wednesday, the 26th of March 2025. He was last spotted around the Main Street area of Cardenden.  

Andrew is described to be white with a slim build and is said to be around 5ft 8in in height with blue eyes, bald head and a grey beard. The outfit Andrew was last seen wearing is dark coloured joggers, a grey hooded sweatshirt, grey t-shirt and carrying a carrier bag.  

"His family and friends are extremely worried and just want to know he is safe and well,” said a Police Scotland spokesperson.   

"I would also appeal directly to Andrew - if you see this, please get in touch." 

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1650 of 26 March. 

Officers are appealing for help and information on the disappearance of 43-year-old, woman, Angela Rees who has been reported missing from Dundee. Around 5:30pm on Tuesday, 25th march, 2025 Angela was reported missing. The last place she had been seen was the American Muir Road area of the city. 

It is suspected that Angela has travelled to around Glasgow area then onto London.  

She is said to be white with short dark brown hair, medium build with her height standing at around 5ft 5in. Angela was wearing green and white summer dress, black jacket, black boots and was pulling a black shopping trolley.  

Police Scotland spokesperson said "We are concerned for Angela's welfare and are asking anyone who may have seen her or knows where she is to come forward. 

"Her family and friends are extremely worried and just want to know she is safe and well. 

"I would also appeal directly to Angela - if you see this, please get in touch."

Every 90 seconds someone in the UK is reported as missing. Statistics from Scottish Government show that during any given year there are over 20,000 missing people reports that are appealed by Police Scotland.
