The latest teen movie ‘He’s all that’ stars TikTok sensation Addison Rae as the main character alongside heartthrob Tanner Buchanan. The lost stars in ratings are mostly critical about the starring of a TikTok star than an actor- but it seemed like that was the whole point.

The movie revolves around Padgett Sawyer (Addison Rae), a high school social media influencer who updates her followers every minute. Sawyer carries a fake persona around popular rich friends to be accepted. One day she found her ‘perfect’ pop star boyfriend cheating on her and her reaction was ‘accidentally’ caught on a livestream. Completely humiliated, Sawyer strives to perfect another ‘loser’, Cameron Kweller (Tanner Buchanan), in a bet placed by one of her friends.

The movie was your average teen film filled with popular cute faces. It was a little fun to watch and Addison Rae wasn’t bad in it. The main purpose of her casting was to drag an existing audience from Rae’s platform, and it worked. Some critics have claimed that the complete remake of 1999s, ‘She’s All That’ doesn’t appeal to anyone, but it does. It is appealing towards the new generation that is filled with social media, fake beauty standards and status-  a big issue in today’s society. A TikTok sensation who realises that all she needs is herself, her reality, and love is the message that kids were waiting to see.

The acting was mediocre at best, but the cast pulled it off well. (It was more tolerable than ‘The Kissing Booth 3’.) The chemistry between Rae and Buchanan was amazing;  scenes between them were incredibly cute. It felt magical to see Cameron riding the horse into the school field as Padgett waits for him in her red dress. It is a movie that shows sentimental worth to high standards instead of falling for a cheating pop star with red flags.

Overall, the plot was basic but it ran smoothly into the minds of the new generation. If I was 13 and watching this, I’d see it as inspiring.
