Premier League: Three key Moments

It is coming to the business end of the season and everything is still to play for, many teams continue to battle it out at both ends of the table and there is still time for plenty of drama and goals along the way.

United put in place by local rivals (Man City- 4 Man Utd -1)

Manchester is blue after what was a pulsating affair at the Etihad stadium. Manchester United are falling even further behind the top four after another embarrassing display. Rumours still circulate around the club about the dressing room atmosphere. Despite Ralf Rangnick saying Ronaldo missed the derby due to fitness reasons, many reports suggest that Ronaldo refused to be apart of the matchday squad. This puts the question of this teams mentality and where their future lies, no champions league for a team like United will always be a disaster.

Manchester City stay on top of the premier league table, sitting six points clear ahead of Liverpool, albeit having played a game more. They continue to play at the very highest level and remain as ruthless as ever in their approach, they never settle and treat the whole game like it’s still 0-0. Their hunt for a treble will continue as they look to win their fourth title under Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City we’re streets ahead of Their rivals Man United in terms of overall skill. Despite one moment of brilliance from Pogba and Sancho as they gained an equaliser, it was ultimately their defence yet again that ultimately saw them concede four rather avoidable goals.

Toffees in trouble after Spurs humiliation (Spurs- 5 Everton -0)

No team is ever too good to go down and it is the same for this Everton side. What would be the first time in top flight history if it was to happen, Everton are in real danger of getting relegated and after another horrific display, it’s hard to see them get out of this rut. A tough run of fixtures are ahead for them and it’s hard to see with the level of confidence the squad is at where they will pick up points.

Spurs go marching on in their hunt for a top four spot. They remain some way of the runaway team in Arsenal, but remain in the question for a spot to get back to playing champions league football. Players are starting to hit form at the right time in the league especially Harry Kane, after another man of the match display which saw him bag 2 goals.

No leadership and no organisation, Everton were out of this game after the first 10 minutes. Spurs were too ruthless in their play, a quick double after an own goal from Michael Keane and Son saw the game wither away from the Toffees. It only got worse for them after another three were conceded.

Liverpool keep up with City after narrow win versus West Ham (Liverpool- 1 West Ham- 0)

No matter how they get them, it’s all about just grinding out for those three points for Liverpool. They stay within touching distance of the top and stay in the hunt of a quadruple. They know their run-in is much tougher than Man City’s and will need to hope from some form of slip up from their rivals, but all they can do is get on with their business and get those three points.

West Ham are beginning to lose massive ground in the hunt for a top four finish, their inconsistency continues to be their downfall and with teams around them starting to pick up crucial points, they will have to gain some consistent form as soon as possible, but with Europa League to contend with along with the league, it will be a tough run-in for the East Londoners.

It was all about grinding for Liverpool, they had to dig in for the three points with the one goal by Sadio Mane the difference between the two sides. The game was not without drama, with Pablo Fornals’ chip cleared off the line by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Manuel Lanzini missing a glaring chance in the second half.
