Childish Gambino teases his final two albums alongside a world tour
By Aidan Robertson
Childish Gambino has exciting plans. In a recent GILGA Radio Instagram livestream, Donald Glover's musical alter ego announced the upcoming release of a "finished" version of his 2020 album, 3.15.20, titled Atavista.
In addition to Atavista, Gambino will be dropping Bando Stone & The New World, a fresh project that will serve as the soundtrack for his upcoming film of the same name. He mentioned, "We’re releasing Atavista, but after that, there’s the final Childish Gambino album — a soundtrack for the fans."
Although no specific release dates were disclosed for these albums, Gambino did tease a music video for "Little Foot Big Foot" directed by Hiro Murai, set to be released in the coming weeks. Furthermore, Gambino shared snippets of unreleased tracks like "Human Sacrifice" and "Little Foot Big Foot" featuring Young Nudy during the livestream.
He expressed gratitude towards his fans for their patience and support, emphasizing that the decision to release 3.15.20 unmixed and unmastered was influenced by the uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With this good news however also came the sad news that this would be his final two albums to his Childish Gambino persona, however he has said releasing music under his own name of Donald Glover isn’t out of the question.
Alongside this on 22 April, Gambino posted a black image with a rainbow falling beside it with the words “New World Tour” with a caption telling fans to sign up for ticket information and updates on his website.
This makes sense considering his recent Coachella performance alongside Tyler the creator which reminded all the audience how exciting and lively a performer the rapper can be on stage.
While no specific locations or ticket prices are yet available, here’s hoping that the rappers final tour will be one to end his music career on a bang.
