PFA POTY: Five players who could’ve made the list

The SPFL season has been an entertaining one to say the least. A gripping title fight that will go down to the wire, VAR controversy and the battle for Europe.
But now, the season is coming to its climax and the nominees for PFA POTY have been announced: Jack Butland, James Tavernier, Lawrence Shankland and Matt O’Riley. However, there have been a host of great players this year and many who could’ve made their case.
Danny Armstrong
Armstrong has been a standout performer in the Kilmarnock team this year. He started the season as a winger and has adapted his game well to fit into the Kilmarnock system as a wing back and has contributed with nine goals and fourteen assists for Killie in all competitions.
Blair Spittal
Spittal has been pivotal in midfield for Motherwell scoring some crucial goals in the chase for 7th position in the league. He has eleven goals and nine assists in all competitions for the Well gathering a lot of interest as his contract comes to an end in Lanarkshire.
Luke McCowan
McCowan has been a standout in a flying Dundee squad on their return to the Premiership as they chase a European spot. The 26 year old has nine goals and five assists in the return to the top tier of Scottish football.
Zander Clark
Clark has had a good year as he has been called upon due to an Injury to Craig Gordon. He has kept a solid fifteen clean sheets in 33 games for the Jam Tarts. Which has seen him have a solid opportunity of making Steve Clarkes Euro 2024 squad.
Frankie Kent
Kent has been a major part of Hearts defence throughout the season in there quest to secure 3rd position in the league. He has been key in helping keep the second most clean sheets in the league with fifteen.
