With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, couples everywhere have been hard at work preparing some special surprises for their other half.
However, all the flowers and boxes of chocolates aren’t just exclusive to February 14.
City Live went out on to the streets of Glasgow to ask lovestruck Scots what was the most romantic thing that they have ever experienced. If you’re struggling to think of a romantic gesture, perhaps these will give you some ideas.
Suki O’Connor, 32, Librarian, said: “My girlfriend has synesthesia, so she sees people as colours.
“So, when she first told me that she liked me, she told me I was pink like the colour of the flowers that grew around her house when she was growing up.”
Phoebe Souley, 18, Student, said: “When my dad passed away it was a really hard time for me.
“My boyfriend went out and got me flowers, a Jellycat teddy, some chocolates and comforted me all night.”
If those didn’t spark some inspiration, here are some of the Valentine’s Day events that are on in Glasgow.
Kimpton Blysthwood Square Galantine’s Weekend Club: Not got a partner? Well, grab your girls and get down to the Kimpton Blysthwood Hotel and Spa on February 14-15 where they will be screening both Barbie and Bridesmaids with a complementary drink upon arrival.
Sip and Sculpt: On Valentine’s Day at Creative Bloc Studio’s BYOB pottery night, you and your Valentine (or Galentine) can make your very own matching trinket trays or candle holders.
Death By Chocolate: On February 16, Mediterranean restaurant Arta is holding a murder mystery event where you will spend the evening investigating clues, interviewing potential suspects and uncovering who the murderer is. Tickets include a three-course meal, glass of champagne upon arrival and interactive dinner show all for £57.50.
