Rangers have lost out on the previous two SWPL titles on the last day of the season, with Glasgow City and Celtic winning each of the titles since Rangers last triumph in 2022.
Jo Potter’s side are trailing the top two of Glasgow City and Hibs by two points going into the split but with each team still to play each other twice, Potter and her side know the title is still within their own grasp.
Rangers forward Mia McAuley was in attendance at the SWPL’s post-split event at Hampden this week but was unavailable for interview due to an event with the Rangers Charity Foundation at Pollokshields Primary School following the event.
The 18-year-old has shone in the Rangers side since breaking into the team a couple of years ago and her impact in offensive areas will be decisive in the run in.
Rangers have scored the most goals by far in the league but have had some disappointing defensive performances which have cost them a place at the top of the league table including a poor 3-0 home defeat to title rivals Hibs in December.
Rangers are the only women’s side in the country still in contention of a domestic treble, with the side, alongside their league challenge, still in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup and the final of the Sky Sports League Cup.
Rangers kick off their post-split fixtures with an away trip to Motherwell on Sunday and will conclude their campaign with a home match against Hibs.
