Top games coming April 2025

We head towards the summer, which is annually a huge period for gaming and game releases. With some of the heavy hitters beginning to tease their games ahead of the middle of the year we look at some of the games being released just before the years boom period.

April promises to be an exciting month for the industry across console and PC, we look at the biggest, and most interesting releases coming to gamers this April.

April 8th: South of Midnight

We kick off our look into April’s games with an Xbox exclusive. South of Midnight is a third-person action-adventure game developed by Compulsion Games and published by Xbox Game Studios themselves.

Set in a fantasised American Deep South, Players take on the role of Hazel, who learns an ancient weaving power to explore the Deep South mythos and confront mysterious creatures. The game is described as having a dark modern folktale driven by character development, lyrical music inspired by the American South, and a narrative that delves into Southern folklore.

The game will release on Xbox and PC at £39.99 but will also be available through Xbox Game Pass.

April 10th: Monaco 2

A top down stealth-action game, Monaco 2 is the long awaited sequel to Monaco: What's Yours Is Mine (2013) that has been developed by Pocketwatch Games and published by Humble Games.

The game involves the player taking part in heists and robberies, controlling an ensemble cast of characters in a now isometric 3D environment in comparision to the original's 2D graphics.

It will release across Playstation, Xbox and PC but the price remains undisclosed.

APRIL 10th: Blue Prince

Releasing on the same day as Monaco 2, Blue Prince is a mystery, strategy, and puzzle game developed by Dogubomb and released by publishers Raw Fury Games.

Described by the publication PC Gamer as “Game of the Year” and by Eurogamer as “atmospheric, clever, and it's a very hard game to walk away from.”

The critics seem to enjoy it but will players? Time will tell but it releases on Playstation, Xbox and PC at a so far undisclosed price.

April 17th: Rusty Rabbit

Rusty Rabbit is an upcoming Metroidvania action platforming video game developed by Nitroplus and published by NetEase.

The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where humans have long abandoned Earth, leaving it to now anthropomorphic rabbits, who have developed a civilization where the books of Peter Rabbit are seen as holy. The game follows Stamp the rabbit who sets on a journey to save his daughter at Mt. Chimney. Armed with only a drill initially you will take Stamp through various generated dungeons, upgrading as you progress towards your final goal.

The game will release on Playstation, Nintendo Switch and PC at £15.99.

April 24th: Fatal Fury - City of the Wolves

This game is an upcoming fighting game developed and published by SNK. It is the first new entry in the Fatal Fury series in 26 years, but this is no reboot, this is a long-awaited continuation of the story left off over a quarter of a century ago in Garou: Mark of the Wolves.

Gameplay in City of the Wolves is similar to that of its predecessor, with combat taking place on a two-dimensional movement plane. It is a throwback in this sense to classic fighting games of the 90’s. It features plenty of fan favourite characters with some modern additions, including Capcoms Chun-Li and Ken Masters and even football star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The game will release on Playstation, Xbox and PC at £49.99.

April 25th: Days Gone Remastered

Days Gone was initially released as a 2019 action-adventure video game developed by Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and will return with a remaster for the upgraded PlayStation 5 system.

In Days Gone you must fight to survive an environment ravaged by a deadly pandemic as former outlaw biker, Deacon St. John. As you risk the threats of the Broken Road on the back of your trusty Drifter bike you face terrifying hordes of relentless feral Freakers – as well as dangerous gangs of humans. Unpredictable weather and different times of day and night can cause incredible danger and shocking surprises… and everything wants you dead.

It will release for PlayStation and PC at £44.99

April 30th: MotoGP 25

Developed and published by Milestone SRL. This years MotoGP release features refined sound design and new challenges within the game.

You can choose whether to go with a realistic or arcade style mode for your gameplay, depending on your own personal preference. It allows you to play across the whole Motocross 2025 season as your own player or you can mess about in the various game modes presented.

It will release on Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC at £59.99.
