5 comedies you should watch!

If you’re looking for some easy-viewing, funny, heartwarming films to watch, then these are the films for you. From two teenagers seeking to lose their virginity to a kid who hates his stepdad working in a waterpark, here are five of the best comedies of the 2000s/2010s.

1. Superbad – Superbad follows the story of Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera), two best friends on a mission to lose their virginities at their first high school party just before they leave to go to different colleges. If you’re a fan of crude humour and stories of good friendship, this one is for you!

2. Adventureland – Adventureland follows James (Jesse Eisenberg) when he takes up a summer job in an amusement park to save up for college. There he meets Em (Kristen Stewart) and falls in love with her. As he starts uncovering more about her relationship with maintenance worker Connell (Ryan Reynolds), the story gets deeper. If you’re up for easy watching, dark comedy and an 80s aesthetic, give it a try.

3. The Way Way Back – The Way Way Back follows the story of Duncan (Liam James), an awkward teenager on a trip to his awful stepdad Brent’s (Steve Carrell) beach house, and shows his difficult relationship with his mum, stepdad and stepsister. Things change for him when he gets a job at the local waterpark, and makes a new friend Owen (Sam Rockwell). If you’re looking for a coming-of-age, heart-wrenching story, give it a watch!

4. Little Miss Sunshine – Little Miss Sunshine follows the story of Olive (Abigail Breslin), a young girl with big dreams of winning a pageant show. When she gets into Little Miss Sunshine on a technicality, her entire family treks across the country in a worn-down minivan. Covering lots of real-life issues, Little Miss Sunshine is definitely one to watch.

5. Juno – Juno Follows the story of Juno (Elliot Page), a teen who gets pregnant and decides to continue with the pregnancy but give her baby to a more suited family. The couple hoping to adopt her baby clearly have their faults, and it highlights how a seemingly perfect family can also have their issues. Hilarious and heartbreaking, Juno is for you if you’re looking for emotional easy viewing.
