The soundtrack of Arcane Season Two

By Tricia Walker

Arcane is an animated show, based on the video game League of Legends - one of Netflix’s most watched shows of 2021. Season one of Arcane came out in November of 2021, but it’s now time to talk about season two with it getting released throughout November. This Saturday morning, the first three episodes of season two will be available to watch on Netflix.

The soundtrack for season one was full of big artists and bands like Imagine Dragons, Bones UK and JID, and it was in an Instagram post from showrunners when it was learnt what artists would be featured in season two. Similarly to season one, there will once again be big names featured such as Twenty One Pilots, King Princess and Ashnikko.

The music for season two has already been showcased through different trailers and music videos that have been uploaded to YouTube. For season one, there was a promotional music video, featuring a song by Imagine Dragons that was in the show as well. Fortiche (the animation studio behind Arcane) released a music video earlier this month for season two, that had a song called “Blood, Sweat & Tears” by Sheryl Lee Ralph, which we should expect to hear in the show.

The music of Arcane covers many different genres, from jazz to rap, as well as alt-pop through a song by Bea Miller Ramsey. Season two will also have a variety of genres featured, similar to season one, with many different artists appearing throughout the soundtrack. Aside from the songs featured, there are also a few instrumental songs that can be heard throughout the show, composed by both Alexander Temple and Alex Seaver.

The songs that are featured in Arcane, get played during emotional moments in the show, making the moments more impactful and memorable. The soulful music of the soundtrack for the first season got played at the end of each act, leaving viewers eagerly waiting for the next act of the show to come out.

With the music of the promotional pieces for season two already out and released on Spotify, viewers and watchers will have to wait in anticipation for the full soundtrack which will be available to stream this Saturday, alongside the second season’s release.
